Fire Watch

Fire alarm systems are installed according to city code.  Any time your fire alarm system is impaired due to maintenance, testing or damage, a fire watch needs to be implemented. The fire watch consists of making periodic inspections of the areas being impacted while following the guidelines prescribe by the fire department.

Portable fire extinguishers

  • Class A – Ordinary combustible materials, such as cloth, wood, rubber, paper, trash, and many plastics.
  • Class B – Flammable liquids, such as gasoline and oil based paints.
  • Class C – Involving live electrical equipment that is electrically energized or plugged into an outlet, such as power tools, appliances, and computers.
  • Class D – Combustible metals and metal alloys. These fire extinguishers are often specific to a combustible metal (factories).
  • Class K – Vegetable or animal oils and fats (restaurants, cafeterias and caterers kitchens).
  • Multi-purpose – There are multi-purpose fire extinguishers that can be used on two or more classes.

Procedures for reporting an emergency

We will formulate a procedure that will include your companies emergency contact information.

Evacuation procedures

We will execute any evacuation procedure your company may have.  If your company doesn’t have one, we will work with you to create one.

Hazard recognition

Our security officers are trained to identify hazardous materials and conditions.
